Text alerts

WA Fish Forecast can text you when a water you follow starts fishing well, and when the best time to go is. Here is how signing up works, every kind of text we send, and how to get help or stop.

Text alerts are rolling out. Until they are switched on, the same alerts are sent by email.

The program

Name. WA Fish Forecast alerts.
What you get. Texts about the waters and species you choose to follow — when the fishing picks up there, and the best time to go.
Who can join. Angler+ members with a US or Canadian mobile number.
How often. Recurring, and at most one alert text a day. Signing up also sends a one-time code and a confirmation.
Cost. We do not charge per text. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

How you sign up

Sign in and open your Alerts page, then choose Edit delivery.
Enter your mobile number and tick Text me. The box starts unticked, and the terms below sit right beside it.
We text a 6-digit code. Enter it on the page — nothing else is sent until you do.
We text a confirmation, and alerts start with the next one for your spots.

When several of your spots have news on the same day, they arrive together in one text rather than several. About once a month an alert ends with “Reply STOP to end.”
